Does my car need fuel injector cleaner ?

No symptoms whatsoever.



Its a 94 Buick Century 3.1L V6 OHV 12V FI Engine.



Ive had it 4 years and have never done had any issues with the injectors.



I needed an alternator, front brakes and I changed the antifreeze.



OReillys has been advertising how much it helps with gas mileage and they have it buy one get one free.



Should I buy it despite not having any symptoms ?



Will it help avoid future problems ?Does my car need fuel injector cleaner ?It don,t hurt a thing, that engine has a problem building up gum at the injector ports which will bring your millage down, some times it will plug a injector. If your not having a problem at this time I think i would spend my money on the brakes, It's more important to get the car stopped ,if it don,t you could get killed. next fix the alt and if you have money left over go for the injector cleaner it will be a good deal.

it helps with gas mileage. from my experiance, all are the same, stp, lucas, gumout. i used one on a road trip and got 75 extra miles out of my tank of gas, and i had no problems with my car before i used it.

car companys suggest getting a fuel system cleaning every 15,000 miles.
most injector cleaner is Kerosene which is a very clean burning fuel but doesn't do anything to help clean injectors just a waste of money
it is always a good idea to add it in your tank when you fill up it will only help the performance of the engine,but I will tell you the truth it will not help on your gas mileage,i have added it to my dodge dakota in the past several times but not my mileage,now the performance improved some but not enough to write home about. But yes it can not hurt to add it.
